Ft. Gordon

Fort Gordon is a wonderful place to ride and train.  The traffic is very light and the drivers are extremely courteous.  You will find some very challenging hills there, which is why it is frequently chosen as the site for USCF state and regional races.  You are welcome to ride there anytime you like but, you may be asked to sign-in and out for security reasons.  Remember that, you are a guest on a military reservation and must act accordingly.  Helmets are required at all times and lights and reflective vests are required after dark.

Below are the directions for both the "basic"  15 mile loop a and the "long" loop which adds an additional 7 miles.  By riding combinations of both and varying your direction of travel you will find plenty of safe and enjoyable riding out there.

From Gate 1
Continue on Chamberlin Ave. for 4 miles past 4 traffic lights.  At the top of the hill, turn left on 15th St.  Go 1.4 miles passing one stop sign  to 111th where you bear right to the small parking lot.  The "official" start/finish is 2 more blocks to the right, down 111th at 12th St.

From Gate 2
Continue on 19th street to the traffic light at Chamberlin Ave. Turn right on Chamberlin for 1/2 mile.  At the top of the hill make a left on 15th St. Go 1.4 miles passing one stop sign  to 111th and  bear right  to the small parking lot.  The "official" start/finish is 2 more blocks to the right, down 111th at 12th St.

From Gate 5
Continue past the traffic light at Burger King and turn Left at the stop sign onto 4th St. Go 2.4 miles and turn left on 15th St. Go 3/4 mile to 111th St. and bear right into the parking lot.  the "official" start/finish is 2 more blocks to the right, down 111th at 12th St.

Gordon Hills Race Course at Ft. Gordon

This is the basic loop of 15 miles. Race direction is Clockwise.

4 3.4 mi  6.0 mi Bear Left at fork continuing on McDuffie Rd.
5 7.0 mi  13.0 mi 6.7 mi Right where pavement ends.  Caution-loose sand in turn.
6 2.0 mi  15.0 mi Right where pavement ends.  Caution-loose sand in turn.
7 3.4 mi  18.4 mi Left at stop sign on Range Rd. (Water at turn)
8 3.8 mi  22.2 mi Right at fork. 1 mi to finish at top of the hill.
